Throughout the tour of FORCE! an opera in three acts, Whitehead extended the idea of "abolitionist company class" by partnering with the Women's Justice Institute (Chicago), Crenshaw Dairy Mart (Los Angeles), the Fortune Society (New York), and House of the Lorde (Chicago) for programming. Events included vision boarding and black feminist reading rooms, and opened up the language, aesthetics, and ethics of the opera to a broader community.
